On 1 September 2025 at 6 p.m. a ceremony welcoming our first-graders was held in the yard of our school. Parents and pupils were addressed by the headmistress, Milica Vuković, MA:
„Dear first-graders, dear parents, esteemed colleagues,
it is my honour and my pleasure to welcome you at the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year on behalf of the staff of JU OŠ „Milorad Musa Burzan“, one of the oldest and most respected schools in the city. This is the day when you open the door to a new world — a world of knowledge, friendship and experience.
Ahead of you lies a year filled with learning and discovery. Every letter and every number you learn is a key that will open the door to many possibilities. School is not only a place where you learn; it is also a place where you make friends and gather unforgettable memories. Dear first-graders, today you have stepped into the loveliest period of life — your school years. From this moment a long road opens before you, and at its end await the greatest values in life: knowledge and friendship.
This is a special day both for you and for your parents, teachers and educators, who will work together to make your schooling a success. Your teachers and educators will give you support and make your time at school pleasant and safe.
Dear parents, I wish you much love and patience as you follow your children’s schooling, and a successful partnership with the teachers, educators and all our staff; and to my fellow teachers I wish a successful welcome to the new generation. Your support and your love are essential in this period. Together we are laying the foundations that will allow your children to become educated, independent and responsible people.
